About the author:

Rajiv Mehrishi completed his education at St. Xavier’s School, Jaipur, and St. Stephen’s College, Delhi (undergraduate and postgraduate), and later pursued an MBA from the UK. Mr. Mehrishi joined the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1978 and retired in 2017 after a successful and remarkable career spanning 39 years.

In the Rajasthan government, he held two of the most important positions, namely:

1. Chief Finance Secretary

2. Chief Secretary

In the central government, he was appointed to two of the most significant secretary-level positions, namely:

1. Union Finance Secretary

2. Union Home Secretary
