Deepak Gupta

During his 39-year career, Mr. Gupta served in various central and state government departments, including a significant posting as Jute and Coir Advisor in ITC Brussels. He also played a pivotal role in public health, serving as the Advisor to WHO in Delhi for the TB program.

Deepak Gupta, an accomplished member of the 1974 IAS batch, holds a rich academic background with a BA from Allahabad University, an MA in History from St. Stephen's College, an M.Phil from JNU's School of International Studies, and an MPA from Harvard University as a Mason Fellow.

Notably, he initiated the National Solar Mission during his tenure as Secretary of MNRE. From November 2014 to September 2016, he chaired the UPSC, marking another high point in his distinguished career. His extensive contributions have solidified his position as a prominent figure in public service and administration.
