Samuel Taylor Coleridge, along with William Wordsworth, was instrumental in initiating a poetic revolution in the early nineteenth century which is known as the ‘romantic movement’. Coleridge is perhaps best known for his haunting ballad ‘Rime of the Ancient Mariner’, the dream-like ‘Kubla Khan’, and the unfinished ‘Christabel’, but he wrote several other smaller poems as well, quite remarkable for their imaginative power.
