The Trial is an invisible and a unique piece of fiction introduced by Franz Kafka. It tells the story of Joseph K., who is increasingly oppressed by an insane penal procedure, is able neither to find out what crime he is accused of nor to confront the tribunal that is supposed to be judging him; forgoing a trial, the invisible tribunal eventually orders his execution.
